Emerged through dialogue with historian Ivana Hadzievska and ethnologist and activist Jana Kocevska, who invited me to join the research team focused on the forgotten women’s magazine "Makedonka".

Easy Accumulation of Capital is a research-based performance addressing the systemic discrimination of women in the Macedonian textile industry. The work took the form of a wall engraving (mural) combined with needlework, performed over six consecutive days, eight hours per day, at the Museum of Contemporary Art Metelkova in Ljubljana.

If a Story is Present, solo exhibition by Yane Calovski and Hristina Ivanoska, was commissioned in 2022 by the Art Encounters Foundation, Timișoara (Romania), curated by Diana Marincu. Following the architecture of the space, the show was built around a nucleus of works developed over the last five years (2017–2022), engaging with Open Form theory.

Yane Calovski and Hristina Ivanoska: Wayside (A Performance Yet to Happen), Tobačna 001– MGML, Ljubljana, 2019

Collaborations

Wayside is a project that examines hypothetical possibilities of an exhibition program for the unrealized Museum of Modern Art in Skopje, designed in 1966 by Oskar Hansen. Initiated in 2007, the project builds on Hansen’s surviving documentation for the museum, while also drawing inspiration from the Temporary Slovenian Dance Archives by Rok Vevar.
